About Us

The south Arkansas site, now known as Arkadelphia, was settled in about 1809 by John Hemphill, operator of a nearby salt works, Arkansas’ first industry. Arkadelphia was known as Blakelytown until 1839, when the settlement adopted the name Arkadelphia. As a tribute to Arkadelphia’s rich history, Blakelytown has been re-birthed as Arkansas’ most unique event venue and golf course located just to the west of Arkadelphia. Blakelytown is an event venue for weddings, corporate events, private parties and golf.
